In her third creation Let Us Believe in the Beginning of the Cold Season, KVS-face Sachli Gholamalizad concludes her trilogy on personal and territorial boundaries, the place of the individual in society and the tension between self and otherness. In dialogue with Iranian poetess Forough Farrokhzad, and inspired by the music of Googoosh and others, Sachli undermines imposed frameworks and investigates what an ideal self and society might look like.

In her previous two performances, A Reason to Talk and (Not) My Paradise, Gholamalizad questions concepts like boundaries and otherness by dissecting her relationship with her mother, her family and her homeland. In Let Us Believe in the Beginning of the Cold Season, the final chapter of the trilogy, she lets go of the past and tries to forge a path to a new reality.

Sachli Gholamalizad has delved into archives and traveled to the US, Canada and Argentina in search of different, universal narratives. In her encounters, she has experienced the constant battle women fight to be able to get off the beaten track. Gholamalizad wants to depict a new and different sense of womanhood on stage. Using her voice and her body as her instrument, and underscored by music, she takes the audience on a journey through universal myths and stories. She wants to recover power and space by rewriting old narratives, thereby mapping out the contours of a new reality.
