Wooden benches are placed in the back of a truck. This is the simple arena for Kamyon. A little girl tells how she and her mother travelled across Europe in a truck like this, fleeing the madness, looking for a safe home, a better life.
Like so many thousands of migrants, Kamyon will journey across Europe. In each country a new actress will speak. Following the premiere in Istanbul, the performance was staged in Slovenia, France, Czech Republic, Italy, Hungary and England. And this season for the first time in Brussels!
KVS will be presenting Kamyon in Brussels in different languages and neighbourhoods, in collaboration with Théâtre National and the Brussels community centres. Don’t miss the Brussels stops! With the communication support of the federation Fedactio.
Kamyon is suitable for anyone over the age of 8.
KVS is presenting Kamyon in different languages in several districts of Brussels, in association with Théâtre National and Cultuurcentrum Brussel. Following the series of performances on the square behind KVS BOL, Kamyon will be going out into the city. From January to March 2017, it will be visiting four Brussels boroughs. The 36 school performances will enable 1400 pupils to see the show. About 850 of them will, after the performance, take part in a workshop in their classroom to explore current events involving migration. Half of them will attend the official end of the school tour at a proper Kamyon concert afternoon in KVS BOX on 31 March.
In addition to the school performances, we are also planning Dutch-language performances for the general public in the following boroughs:
