ON S’OCCUPE DE VOUS?
theatre & TokTocKnock
Guy Cudell was mayor of Sint-Joost-ten-Node from 1953 until his death in 1999. This exceptionally long time in office meant it was impossible to imagine Brussels life without him. His striking posture and recognisable voice made him very media-friendly. Under his disarming mask lay a political animal. What answers did Cudell think up for the challenges that Sint-Joost presented him with over all those years, in the smallest, most densely populated, most varied borough in our country? Many of the problems he tried to find solutions for remain unresolved even now. What lessons can contemporary Brussels learn from Cudell’s legacy?
