With their shared fascination with and responsibility for the city, KVS and VUB will be collaborating intensely. For this multicoloured, multilingual city is a challenging laboratory for both institutions; a source of amazement, compassion, expertise and irritation. Together we are convinced that connection is the answer for the future, and that tomorrow’s society will not be created by or composed of individuals who believe that they alone know best.

What could send a more powerful signal than kicking off the academic and cultural year together? That’s exactly what we’ll be doing with MINDBLOWERS. There will be no overblown speeches or pompous lectures here, but short, powerful and urgent interventions at the crossroads of art, culture and reflection. At the intersection of activism, ‘artivism’ and academism. The theme for this first MINDBLOWERS is resistance. A fine selection of thinkers and artists from both Belgium and abroad will be presenting their visions of resistance. What does that mean today? What has it meant and what can it mean in our future?

An afternoon will become an evening, and will wind up as a party. From 4 pm you can stroll in and out and begin a new academic year and theatre season feeling challenged, fresh and sharp.
