Lisi Estaras, Argentinian, and star of Les ballets C de la B, returns to her early love: the tango. But not quite as you know it.

It takes two to tango. In classical tango, a man and woman dance together in strict, traditional roles. It is the ultimate example of perfection and balance, sensuality and symbolism. But what if we break those traditional roles and look at them with fresh eyes? Lisi Estaras and fellow dancer-choreographer Ido Batash take up this challenge.

Ariel Eberstein and his Brussels-based tango quintet, Sonico, bring Eduardo Rovira’s avant-garde music to life, and together this team develops the tango into a less perfect form, with humour and tenderness. The result is SONICO: The Heart is the Muscle We Like to Work Out: raw, physical, clownlike and disarming – an ongoing exercise in meeting the other.
