Yassin Mrabtifi

Yassin Mrabtifi brings together pop culture, contemporary dance, film, martial arts and hip hop in his work.

Yassin has been dancing since the age of thirteen. Just like many other hip hop dancers, he first encountered styles such as popping, locking and breakdance in Brussels’ railway and metro stations. He has thus developed an idiosyncratic and accessible artistic style, a mixture of urban and contemporary dance and stand-up comedy. He is in constant dialogue with his audience about the influence of the arts on society, identity and the Brussels community that is his home. Since 2013, he has been part of the dance company Ultima Vez, and from the 2017-2018 season he also joined the KVS ensemble.
