WoWmen! 2020

‘My own definition of a feminist is a man or a woman who says, ‘Yes, there’s a problem with gender as it is today and we must fix it, we must do better.’ All of us, women and men, must do better.’ – Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie (We should all be feminists)

In the first week of March the fourth edition of WoWmen! takes place in Brussels, for the occasion of International Women’s Day, which takes place the following week. The festival literally and figuratively gives women a stage.

There will be performances, readings, debates and workshops that shed light on gender, art and society. KVS is delighted to welcome the world premiere of Laborious Song on 3 March. This performance by lauded Canadian choreographer Daina Ashbee is a testimony of personal experiences to which gender and vulnerability are central. Dancer Benjamin Kamino completely surrenders to Daina’s choreography in a vulnerable performance to music by Gianni Bardaro.
