Podcast: KVS en route
We’ve joined the podcast bandwagon! For certain KVS creations, we are launching a podcast that prepares you like a gentle guide before the performance, whispering fascinating background information into your ear before the curtain lifts. And if you prefer watching the performance with an unbiased eye, you can always listen to the podcasts afterwards – they will remain online.
Which ones can I listen to?
KVS en route made its first stop for Dear Winnie. In this episode, director Junior Mthombeni discusses four key scenes, providing extra background because they portray important tipping points in Winnie Madikizela Mandela’s life.
The next stop was an episode for Afropean // Human Being, in which writer Sukina Douglas and actor Ginny Holder candidly share their ‘Afropean experience’.
In the third podcast, about Fire Will Become Ashes, But Not Now, the cast share their favourite quotes and director Pitcho Womba Konga explains about James Baldwin and his link to the performance.
What language are they in?
The language of each podcast depends on the language of its appurtenant performance. The Dear Winnie podcast is in Dutch. Afropean // Human Being is discussed in English. The third podcast, for Fire Will Become Ashes, But Not Now, is in French.
