Dreaming of a new season

KVS has decided, in consultation with the artists involved, to cancel the remaining public performances for this season. All ticketholders will be contacted about reimbursement.

Unfortunately, COVID-19 and the current government measures mean we cannot ensure the performances we had planned can go ahead safely or as intended. Theatre is a celebration and a meeting – and that’s a standard we (like you) hold high.

We’re currently putting the finishing touches to our 2020/21 season. We’ve made some adjustments to include those performances we had to cancel this Spring, so that artists whose work could not première this season can go ahead next year.  Pitcho Womba Konga’s Fire Will Become Ashes But Not Now, Lisbeth Gruwez’s Piano Works Debussy, Moya Michael’s Coloured Swan 3: Harriet’s Remix and Mrs Dalloway by Carme Portaceli and Michael De Cock will all reappear.

We will be announcing our new season very soon - so do keep an eye on our web site and social media. If you’d like to receive our season brochure and/or monthly newsletter, you can sign up here or send us your postal or email address – and you’ll be among the first to receive news when the new programme lands.

You will still be able to book tickets in advance. And in order to make sure you are protected, all our tickets will be fully exchangeable or refundable, should there be further cancellations as a result of COVID-19 in future.

We look forward to welcoming you back to our fantastic theatre very soon. Our staff are working away on the new season, which promises to be rich, varied and exciting: a perfect time to look forward to the beauty that lies ahead. Because daring to dream is important!

Answers to your Frequently Asked Questions:

What if I have a ticket to one of the cancelled performances?

KVS will write to all ticketholders with an offer of reimbursement.

Will KVS remain open?

These recent developments have forced us to close the theatre entirely until at least 2 June. If necessary, that date may be extended. We will keep you up to date via our website.

What if I bought my ticket via Ticketswap?

As soon as someone sells their ticket through Ticketswap, KVS loses track of who the ticketholder is. We are only able to retrace the original buyer. That is the person we will contact about refunds or compensation. In our email, we ask people explicitly to pass on the necessary information to the person they sold their ticket to via Ticketswap.

How can I help prevent the spread?

  • Wash your hands regularly
  • When you cough or sneeze, do so in your elbow crease
  • Use paper tissues
  • Do not kiss or shake hands
  • Keep the necessary distance, but don’t forget to take care of each other, family, friends and neighbours
