Próximamente 2021

Latin America presents a powerful,
surprising selection of performances in Brussels.

22.11.2021 > 28.11.2021

KVS and some of the most relevant festivals, theatres and organizations from Argentina, Chile, Uruguay and Brazil and artists, have created PRÓXIMAMENTE together.

Próximamente means ‘soon/ coming soon’ and also refers to ‘proximity’. It is a cooperative platform with a brand-new festival programme. The first edition, in 2019, had overwhelmingly positive effects: new networks were built, engaging performances were shown to a European audience (for the first time), and it was the start of an honest dialogue between Latin American and European artists and audiences.

To share and become shareable is our goal. We are growing purely from that vision. That’s why we are adding partners to the network, both in Belgium and throughout Europe. We are happy to welcome Kaaitheater and other EU organisations that have joined the platform this year.

We have a series of fantastic names on the programme, selected by the Latin American partners committee, that will cross the boundaries, let us reflect and start new interculturally exchanges, such as Josefina Gorostiza, Manuela Infante, Janaina Leite, Amparo González Sola, LasTesis, Tamara Cubas, Rodrigo Arena, Carolina Bianchi, Preto Amparo, Zahy Guajajara, Pais Clandestino company, Diego Echegoyen, Fernando Rubio directing Pitcho Womba Konga, Luis Guenel & Ébana Garín.
