Roger Peltzman
Mon 19.02.2024 - Wed 21.02.2024

In his one man show Dedication, Roger Peltzman, renowned pianist from New York, brings the tragic account of his family, who fled a torn-up Europe after the war to escape the Nazi regime. He does so with plenty of drama, humour, powerful imagery, and music from blues to Chopin.

Peltzman was sucked into this story of people he has never known and developed a ‘bond’ with his uncle, Norbert Stern, a brilliant pianist who was murdered in Auschwitz at the age of 21. Peltzman experienced the heritable nature of Holocaust trauma first-hand and shares how he, as the second generation after the survivors, has given a place to this trauma and how music has helped him to soften wounds that can never fully heal.
