Michelle Woods is a cook and artist living in Brussels, who works with and is interested in the relationship between performance and hospitality, exploring the boundaries and unexpected dimensions of food culture.

She moved to Antwerp in 2007 to join the Fashion Department of the Royal Academy of Fine Art. Inspired by an all-girl performance group called Bissy Bunder, she joined forces with her fashion friends to form the group LVMM. A memorable work they created together was an imitation brown cafe called De Vuilen Hond, whilst on residency at Scheld’apen (now Het Bos).

After spending some years back in London training as a pastry chef at Michelin-starred restaurant St.JOHN, she returned to Antwerp to give birth to Table Dance, (2018). Table Dance made a name as providers of fine food, drinks, and entertainment, existing far from conventional standards through a hybrid mix of cuisine, music, performance, and scenography that cherished freedom, creativity, and collective quality time above all. Table Dance worked closely with artist residency Morpho and was in residence at MUHKAFE.

Table Dance, (Michelle and musician Roman Hiele), now continue to operate nomadically as an ever-evolving body, though the duo officially celebrated its funeral at KVS in 2023. They continue with a radio show about food and cooking at Kiosk Radio called Potato Tomato, running at lunchtime every third Monday of the month. Tune on in!
