Last Wednesday (29 April), we presented our new ’26–’27 season. It was an evening full of stories, ideas, and encounters between artists and audiences. As part of the programme, RITCS also presented its Future Voices Fund.
With this fund, RITCS aims to support international students (non-EEA), based on the belief that international voices are essential to arts education and to the broader arts landscape in Brussels. However, this exchange has recently come under increasing pressure due to rising study costs and recent increases in tuition fees, making participation difficult for many students. International students nevertheless bring new perspectives, practices, and networks into our arts programmes, our city, and the cultural sector.
During the season presentation, a concrete example was shared: two selected students from Tunisia and Turkey wish to start next academic year in the Master of Arts in Drama – Directing in Brussels. To make their studies possible, RITCS is seeking additional support to reduce tuition fees from 17,500 euros to 5,000 euros per year.
With the Future Voices Fund, RITCS aims to build structural support to continue giving international students access to its programmes in the future.
KVS supports this initiative and aims to open up this conversation to its audience and the wider sector. It raises the question of how we can continue to build an arts field that remains international, open, and resilient.
Support is possible from 10 euros. Donors automatically receive a tax certificate, allowing for a tax reduction of up to 30% on their donation (a gift of 100 euros effectively costs you 70 euros).
