Welcome to KVS, Dries!

© Bea Borgers

Starting in September, Dries Douibi will take the helm as Artistic Director of KVS. Welcome, Dries!

Dries is no stranger to KVS, its artists, or its audiences. We worked together for many years during his time as Artistic Co-Director of Kunstenfestivaldesarts. Before that, Dries worked as Performing Arts Programmer at Beursschouwburg in Brussels and served as Artistic Director of the Bâtard Festival.

With extensive experience in both the Brussels and international arts scene, Dries has an exceptional understanding of the artistic, societal, social and political realities of our capital. With his arrival, he aims to build on KVS's current artistic trajectory while enabling KVS to play an even more significant role in the city: acting as an antidote to polarisation, with art serving as a bridge between audiences, urban and societal realities, and the differences that shape them.

In addition, KVS aims to become even more a City Theatre of Brussels, strengthening collaborations with Brussels-based artists, organisations, schools, associations and residents, while remaining firmly rooted in its Flemish and Dutch-speaking identity. At the same time, it will continue to build strong international partnerships.

A new chapter in the artistic story of KVS begins. Discover it soon on our stages!
