about Próximamente
PROXIMAMENTE is a biennial festival and platform dedicated to Latin American arts, established in 2019 through collaboration among cultural institutions from Argentina, Uruguay, Brazil, and Chile, in partnership with KVS. Recently, more partners from other countries, such as Colombia, Peru, and Bolivia, have joined. The festival promotes a collaborative artistic model, allowing diverse voices from Latin America to engage in dialogue with the PROXIMAMENTE team to share significant proposals in the performing arts.
Challenging traditional exhibition and reception dynamics, the festival has evolved since 2021 to foster closer dialogue with artists and develop a robust presentation structure that includes works in progress, lectures, workshops, short films, video art, parties, and finished productions. PROXIMAMENTE has a large network of European and Latin American partners, with new ones joining each year.
The festival addresses the complexities of Latin American and Caribe arts landscape in both local and global contexts a, also in dialog with the African diaspora.
