RRRRRUMBA

RRRRRUMBA is an international project that uses the cultural phenomenon of the rumba as its starting point to develop a participatory methodology for intercultural community-building.
Through three field investigations, the project connects different Rumbero communities in Europe, Africa and America. The research project explores the communal cultural peculiarities of this unique art form and the knowhow for cultural participation.
The project comprises three festivals with workshops and performances, and a travelling exhibition. It also builds a sustainable network of expertise and develops a unique participative methodology.
This methodology will be useful within the European and worldwide cultural sector to connect individuals and communities from different backgrounds in an inclusive, horizontal and co-creative manner.
