Africa, Latin America and their diasporas: shared histories, futures to imagine together.

PRÓXIMAMENTE opens its doors to the Global South, bringing together artists from Africa, Latin America and their diasporas. Starting from the research behind RRRRRumba and the presentation of Celebration, a performance project connecting the histories and cultural traditions of Cuba, Congo and the Roma people, we will open a conversation about the historical, cultural and artistic ties that connect us. Artists from different territories will share their experiences, artistic practices and perspectives, exploring new possibilities for encounter, exchange and cooperation. A space to recognise one another, celebrate our connections and imagine the futures we want to build together.
