Singer Junior Akwety, sound artist Jochem Baelus, and clarinettist Lotte Vanhamel place their fate in the hands of the young audience and call for revolution. FEST becomes a bomb of musical anarchy. The musicians transform from ritual percussion into enchanting voices and back again. Distorted sounds erupt into sonic explosions. They draw inspiration from songs of Junior’s homeland, Congo, blending in touches of rumba, Bantu electronics, deep house, hip-hop, and rap. Together with the audience, they create a new world: unguarded, free, and spontaneous.
