In Mariana, contemporary dancer Luz Arcas – 2024 Spanish National Dance Prize winner – braves a physical encounter with flamenco for the first time. She is joined by a mixed group of musicians, with and without backgrounds in flamenco. She starts from the complex relationship between humans and (working) animals and the flamenco music that was traditionally sung and played at celebrations, during the taming of and working with animals on the land.
