Poetry within the dramaturgy of stuttering, the theatre of scratching by Michael Disanka.
A talk moderated by Raïssa Yowali.
Michael Disanka is an actor, director, author and poet, active between Mbanza Ngungu and Kinshasa (DRC). In his intimate, political theatre, he draws on both cities as well as his own stutter, which he describes as “an exercise in truth, in speaking and in acting.”
Together with Christiana Tabaro, he co-founded Collectif d’Art-d’Art and collaborates with, among others, KVS, Dieudonné Niangouna and Faustin Linyekula. Since 2016, he has been developing a trilogy with the collective, presented across Europe and Africa and awarded at several festivals.
The third and final part, Je suis l’acteur de la poésie de ma mère, is performed as a solo and will premiere this spring at KVS as part of Kunstenfestivaldesarts.
