Theatre doesn’t last. That’s the whole point. But never say never.

Five performers enter the archive of a theatre company that’s sixty years old, as if entering the home of a departed loved one. Beneath a thick layer of dust, they uncover text brochures (some with edits, some without), production photos, board meeting minutes, personnel files, posters, crumbling set models, torn costumes, and sleeping characters.

For this new creation, the collective WOLF WOLF doesn’t start from repertoire, but from the place where that repertoire is stored. A space as collective memory. A physical place that is about to disappear. Every box will be emptied, costumes sold, and set pieces taken to the recycling center. Only the scripts and photos will find a new place in the digital world.

What gets preserved, and what is doomed to be forgotten forever? Five actors decide to learn the entire theatre archive by heart. Because that’s what actors do well—remembering lines. So that nothing will ever truly be lost.

In Nooit Nooit, WOLF WOLF investigates how much can be said using only the words of others. A performance like a puzzle, where seemingly unrelated fragments and snippets begin to resonate with one another. With wonder, WOLF WOLF brings the archive back to life in this new creation about the art of remembering.
