Omar Jabary Salamanca, Lisette Ma Neza and Gerardo Salinas invite you to take part in a film and debate night around the construction of a human rights discourse using cases from Argentina, Rwanda, and Palestine.

After the bloody dictatorship in Argentina, the local human rights movement strove for a policy of Memory, Truth, and Justice: building a memorial, seeking for the truth, and demanding justice. The result was the first case ever where a civil court of justice tried the dictatorship of its own country. Is it possible to apply these experiences to other contexts? Which systematic repetitions enable genocides? Can we make connections between these phenomena? Which role can arts practice play in building up this discourse?

Branden was produced by Neza in co-production with Accattone Films and LUCA School of Arts, with the support of KVS. The film was made as part of Lisette Ma Neza Ntukabumwe's graduation project at LUCA School of Arts.
