1095 takes us to the 11th century. We follow Benny, a young Benedictine monk from the Saint Bavo monastery in Ghent. When he is forced to flee Flanders, his journey brings him from France to the destructed Córdoba in Spain. He becomes entangled in a time when religious fanaticism bursts at the seams and spreads like wildfire. 1095 is a satire and a lament, a story of blind love and betrayal, of catastrophe and the beauty we can find in it.
A theater text by Victor Lauwers.
