SYSTEM_D is back – and how! After a few years of radio silence, this film festival for young, up-and-coming talent in Brussels is back with a bang. KVS has the honour of rolling out the red carpet for filmmakers on 17, 18 and 19 December. Let yourself be surprised by the eclectic, uncensored and raw selection this festival has to offer, and vote for your favourite.

The platform SYSTEM_D has been running for ten years. Their goal? To support up-and-coming visual talents from Brussels and to give them a push in the right direction. Since 2011 the organisation has been guiding young autodidact filmmakers in the research, production and distribution of their cinematographic projects.

This film festival is the crowning glory of the SYSTEM_D track. Anyone who feels young, did not go to film school and is creating a film that sheds a new light on Brussels is welcome to join, guaranteeing a diverse field. This way, the filmmakers get a chance to share their work and receive valuable feedback from a professional jury and the audience. The jury distributes three prizes during the festival, the main one of which is a 2,000-euro production budget. The public also gets to cast their vote for the coveted audience award.

Since cinema and photography are inextricably linked, budding photographers are also welcome. The adjacent exposition displays urban snapshots by keen young camera carriers.
