They haven’t seen each other for five years, Leopold III and his minister of foreign affairs Paul-Henri Spaak, not since that night at the start of the war. The government fled the country, the king stayed. For five long years of occupation, it has been grating, seething, ripening, the so-called ‘tragic misunderstanding’ between them.

  • In Love

    Bahar Temiz / KVS
    Fri 02.02.2024
    and
    Sat 03.02.2024

In Love, a beautiful, subtle and poetic two-part dance and sound performance, homes in on the hidden sensitivities of what we consider ‘lifeless objects’. Choreographer Bahar Temiz (known for her creations ICE and PUNKT) and sound designer Charo Calvo transform the body into a ‘moving sculpture’. They experiment with the vibrations that static objects carry and transform KVS BOX into a thrilling entity in the process.

Malus is the Latin word that stands for ‘bad’, ‘evil, ‘wrong’. It refers to a darkness in things that is always hidden under the surface. For Malus choreographer Igor Shyshko collaborates with composer Alain Franco to create a web of connections. The body seems to be struggling, turning inwards, trying to get a grip on time evaporating in a slow but sure circular movement.
