CONGOLISATION wouldn’t be CONGOLISATION without a spectacular closing concert. To end in style, we invited Miss Angel and ISHA, who will fill KVS BOL with their infectious hope and energy.
The opening act is Miss Angel, a Belgian rapper from Antwerp. She started writing her own music in 2016 and released her first songs online two years later. Her single Ghetto Supahstar was picked up by various radio stations, and she has since worked with Zwangere Guy, Le Motel and Blu Samu. Miss Angel’s sound features clear influences from UK grime, old-school hip-hop and female MCs. An artist to watch: this girl is going places!
After a thorough warm-up by Miss Angel, it’s time for our headliner. He started out as Psmaker but now goes by ISHA, the lauded Belgian rapper who built a solid reputation for himself with the trilogy 'La Vie Augmente'. Influenced by American rap from the 90s, he performs deeply personal lyrics that aim to inject hope in society. He also wants to honour his Congolese parents and family with his songs.
Besides his work in music, he is also engaged in societal issues. He spent six years working for Samu Social, focusing specifically on the plight of refugees. Since 2018, he is entirely focused on his artistic career. It doesn’t seem to cost him a lot of effort: he manages time and again to tell an engaging story while also lashing out hard.
