In 2025, the Caroline Pauwels Bursary for Wonder was created to honour Pauwels’ legacy, an initiative by deAuteurs, TAZ, VUB and KVS. The bursary is given to collaborations between performing artists and scientists. The first winners of the bursary, Martha Balthazar and Leon Adriaensen, managed to convince the jury with their project Aha. And now, the creation is ready: a galactic kitchen table dialogue about the value and madness of the word ‘why’. About the fickle nature of mathematics and the imagination needed to understand the stars. But most of all, Aha is a conversation between lovers, where knowledge is not yet truth, and truth not yet wisdom. Featuring Barbara T’Jonck and Carine van Bruggen on either side of the question.
