MADRID

Osikán, vivero de creación

Founded in 2012 in Cuba and based in Madrid, Osikán is a creative, research, and cultural action incubator at the crossroads of art, memory, spirituality, and social justice. Driven by Afro-descendant and Caribbean artists, activists, and cultural workers, it has become a well-established reference space for critical experimentation and contextual cultural production.

Through an interdisciplinary, Black feminist, and decolonial approach, Osikán employs methodologies rooted in listening, care, and cultural autonomy. Under the artistic direction of Afro-Cuban creator José Ramón Hernández, the organization builds its own cultural infrastructures, supports professionalization processes, and promotes the visibility of racialized and migrant artists.

Key projects include Tejiendo Raíces (“Weaving Roots”), which proposes the creation of an Afro archive in Spain and opens discussions on cultural rights from an Afro-centered perspective; and the Residencia Afronteriza, which supports artistic and performative creation processes by Afro-descendant, migrant, racialized, and sexually and gender-dissident artists. Osikán also participates in international Afro-diasporic networks and co-coordinates the Afrodiasporic Biennial, which will celebrate its first edition in Cali, Colombia, in 2026.

José Ramón Hernández

Born in Palma Soriano, Cuba, in 1988, José Ramón Hernández is a multidisciplinary artist, curator, and Afro-Cuban cultural producer. As founder and artistic director of Osikán – Incubator for Creation and Social Imagination, his practice moves between direction, dramaturgy, choreography, installation, performance, education, and audience engagement, exploring art as a space for healing, memory, and justice.

His research delves into Afro-descendant rituals, the performativity of peripheral bodies, migration, spirituality, and affect as political and poetic forces of transformation. As a spiritist, babalocha, and palero, he develops languages in which archive, ritual, and resistance converge as forms of embodied thought.

He has served as artistic director of the Picnic Sessions 2024 (CA2M), the Residencia Afronteriza (Espacio Afro), and as co-director of the Afrodiasporic Biennial (Cali, 2026). His work has been presented at La Casa Encendida, Matadero Madrid, Festival Mirada (São Paulo), Gorki Theater (Berlin), deSingel (Antwerp), Museo del Chopo (Mexico), and Festival Santiago a Mil (Chile).

CASTILLA-LA MANCHA

Festival Paisaje

Festival Paisaje is an independent cultural initiative, founded by the Asociación Cultural Danza el Paisaje under the coordination of artist Joaquín Collado and cultural manager Laura Viñals. Created in Villamalea (province of Albacete, 3,973 inhabitants), it provides a space for dance in rural contexts. Built on an ethics that celebrates difference and embraces multiple subjectivities, the festival encourages an attentive relationship with the environment and remains free from ideological instrumentalisation.

It seeks to bring dance and artistic expression closer to rural settings, weaving together the experiences of artists and the local community, and expanding imagination to refresh social, cultural and corporeal structures.

Joaquín Collado
Born in Villamalea and based in Barcelona, Joaquín Collado is a performing artist and choreographer. Since 2017, his work has explored the limits of the human body, opening pathways to other corporalities that inhabit the monstrous, the poetic and the spatial. His artistic practice moves between dance, language and performance, shifting between high and popular culture, and embracing multiplicity, excess and disidentification. He defines himself as a “topo-dancer”, mime, contortionist and “buendoblador”, terms that embody a personal poetics of body and gesture.

For the past four years, he has coordinated the Festival Paisaje in his hometown, while also developing an educational project with young people on shame and subjectivity. His latest work, Dejarse quieto flotar (Let oneself float still), unfolds as an exercise in intimacy – a dance without narrative aim or fixed form, exploring existence as an endless gesture.
