RUDERAL (WIP)

Twenty years ago, an accident transformed my body. Since then, part of my face has contained titanium and platinum. Over time, this intimate technological presence began to resonate with other experiences of transformation, displacement and reconfiguration. RUDERAL emerges from this, but does not seek to reconstruct an autobiographical story. Instead, it asks what a body can do with what has passed through it.
The title comes from ruderal plants: species that emerge in altered grounds, among cracks, remnants and spaces shaped by human activity. I am drawn to their persistence and to the force with which they grow where their presence seems unlikely. In RUDERAL, this image shifts towards the body: a territory already traversed by experiences, memories and materials, persisting, mutating and finding other ways of existing.
The choreographic research begins with a body in a state of alert, simultaneously traversed by animal, vegetal, mechanical and digital forces. Movement emerges from the crossing of these logics: vibration and glitch, impulse and repetition, continuity and rupture. Transformation is not represented; it is physically produced through these tensions. Voice and sound also act as forces capable of altering movement and perception.
RUDERAL imagines the stage as a porous ecosystem where body, sound, matter, light and space affect one another. The organic and technological do not appear as opposites: cables can become roots, an ancestral pulse can encounter a digital glitch, an invocation a speculative fiction.
From these crossings emerges the research into Latinofuturism. Not as a representation of Latin American identity, nor as a defined aesthetic, but as a tool for imagining through mixed memories, displaced languages and sensitive geographies. Past and future no longer occupy separate places. The ancestral can project itself forward, while technology can carry ancient memories.
RUDERAL seeks to inhabit this unstable space: a body as landscape, archive and creature in becoming. A scenic organism growing between what it remembers, what it encounters and what it cannot yet name.
