Valencia

Dansa València – Impuls a la Dansa

Dansa València is a festival for dance and movement arts that serves as a meeting ground for dialogue and multiple viewpoints. Organised by the Institut Valencià de Cultura (GVA), it has hosted the Spanish Dance Platform since 2022. Each year the festival presents a broad overview of the most current Spanish contemporary dance, highlighting the richness of artistic voices.

It embraces both established and emerging makers, productions created nearby and others arriving from different regions to inspire us. It is a space for the presence and power of the body, where mediation also matters, with a strong commitment to co-creating and sharing experiences together with local communities. Dansa València further offers a professional context that encourages knowledge exchange and invites us to imagine possible, better futures for dance. These shared insights strengthen our ongoing work to support the artistic community, driven by the conviction that building ties with other cultural organisations is essential — a fundamental network of allies for the development and rooting of creation.

In addition, the festival focuses on temporal and geographical expansion through the Impuls a la Dansa initiative and new forms of exchange and mentorship.

Inka Romaní

Inka Romaní is a Valencia-based dancer and communicator who develops freelance projects in the performing arts with a focus on the body and movement. She has worked and performed across Europe, including at Sadler’s Wells Theatre (London), the Centre de Développement Chorégraphique in Toulouse (France) and La Mutant (Valencia). Collaborations include choreographers and companies such as Márquez & Zangs (UK), Metaspeech (UK), Germana Civera (France) and Core Dance Performance Company (USA). After studying contemporary dance at the Conservatory of Valencia, she received a grant from the Centre National de Développement Chorégraphique in Toulouse – Midi Pyrénées. She later earned a degree in Communication from the Universidad Internacional de La Rioja, and is currently completing a Master’s in Artistic Creation at the Faculty of Fine Arts of Valencia.

Her artistic practice combines somatic techniques with various dance styles — from flamenco and contemporary dance to breaking and voguing. She co-founded Club Mutante, an annual event where dancers from different styles come together to share, dialogue and compete in a festive space of movement.

Navarra

Festival Arbola

Arbola is an annual performing arts festival in Pamplona that celebrates tree and plant culture in June. The programme features performances, gatherings and awareness-raising activities, bringing together artists and researchers from five countries to explore new ways of relating culture and environment in times of eco-social transition.

As in previous editions, Arbola tours in the autumn through different villages in Navarra, strengthening its commitment to the decentralisation of contemporary culture.

We live in a time of ecological crisis that calls for a profound cultural transformation: a transition from ego to eco, from anthropocentrism to biocentrism, placing life at the centre. Such change is only possible through diverse transdisciplinary initiatives of reflection and action — and Arbola aims to be one of them.

Isabel Ferreira
A curator and artistic director with over twenty years of experience in Brazil and Spain, Isabel Ferreira’s work revolves around two core areas: the performing arts and the crossroads of art, science and nature. In 2020 she co-founded LABEA – Laboratorio de Arte, Ciencia y Naturaleza in Pamplona. From there she leads, among others, the Arbola Festival, and projects such as Plantadania (creative strategies for urban renaturalisation) and Materia Bosque (an audiovisual cycle celebrating the poetic and symbolic power of trees).

Monika Aranda
University-trained in Gender Studies, Territorial Development, Affect Studies and Fine Arts, Monika Aranda also trained in photography and painting with artists such as Paco Lafarga, Golucho and Kevin Muller. She studied Architecture and Engineering at the University of Navarra, an academic foundation that continues to inform her artistic practice.

Azkona & Toloza
Laida Azkona Goñi and Toloza Toloza-Fernández are an artistic duo devoted to live arts projects. Drawing on the possibilities of poetry, visual anthropology, lofi video art, performance and movement, their recent works revisit official historiography and create documentary forms for the stage — understood as any possible scene, from an opera house to the vast plains of a highland salt flat.
Regular collaborators include composer/musician Rodrigo Rammsy, scenographer/director Xesca Salvà, choreographer/light designer Ana Rovira, and director/dramaturg Raquel Cors. Their latest production is CANTO MINERAL. They have also published La Colección, a compact toolkit based on the collections of the Museu Etnològic i de Cultures del Món.
Their work has been presented at, among others, the Grec Festival and Festival Sâlmon (Barcelona), Théâtre de la Ville and Festival d’Automne (Paris), Théâtre Garonne (Toulouse), euro-scene (Leipzig), La Bâtie (Geneva), FIAC (Salvador de Bahia), Festival Mirada (Santos & São Paulo), Museo Universitario del Chopo (Mexico City), Romaeuropa Festival (Rome), Festival Internacional de Buenos Aires, Fitei Digital (Porto), Salón Nacional de Artistas de Colombia (Bogotá), Naves Matadero and Teatro Español (Madrid), NAVE (Santiago de Chile), Escena Abierta (Burgos) and Temporada Alta (Girona).
