Food that brings people together

At KVS we believe that food, like theatre, brings people together. That’s why we consciously choose to work with ingredients and suppliers that have a positive effect: on our visitors at KVS Cafe, on our employees and artists at our canteen, and on our catering for venue rental.
Our principles

Local partners and short chains
We work with local producers and Brussels suppliers who share our love for fair food. We keep the distance from farm to plate as short as possible.

Made from scratch
In the morning, our kitchen fills up with the smells of roasted vegetables, fresh soups and delicious stews. Our chefs cook everything from scratch, every day.

Seasonal
We cook to the rhythm of nature. In summer, you can taste juicy tomatoes and garden-fresh salads; in autumn, you can enjoy warming soups and crisp root vegetables.

Mainly vegetarian
We don’t always need meat on our plates. We believe in tasty, colourful recipes that make vegetables the star of the show.

Zero waste
We don’t throw away our leftovers: food gets a second life wherever possible, and leftovers are distributed.

Our local partners
Our partners are people who produce their products with just as much love as we put into our culinary creations.

Groot Eiland
A wide variety of organic products – vegetables, fruits, dairy, bread, meat and more – straight from local producers. Collaborations with The Food Hub and Valdibella make sure everyone throughout the food chain receives fair pay.

Renard Bakery
Bread in its purest form: just flour, water, and sourdough starter. Made with time, care, and respect – nutritious, healthy, and full of flavour.

The Food Hub
The Mediterranean touch in our creations comes from small-scale farmers in Spain and Italy. They are co-owners of their cooperations, making sure any profits return to them.

Terroirist
A Brussels cooperation-to-be that brings producers and professionals closer together. Their mission: fair trade, human values, and respect for nature.

Maison Champignon
In a terraced house in the centre of Leuven, a father and son grow mushrooms with a love for nature and craftsmanship. Their urban farm mimics natural growing processes. The result: nutritious, tasty mushrooms that don’t just promote health, but also contribute to a more sustainable world.

Bakkerij Charli
Artisanal French baked goods, made exclusively with high-grade ingredients. 100% hand-crafted in their Brussels workshop.

Atelier Cuarenta
Atelier Cuarenta’s artisanal soft drinks are made exclusively with fresh juices, using less added sugar and no added chemicals. Their lemonades are inspired by a road trip along the Ruta Cuarenta in Argentina, where colourful roadside stands offer homemade lemonades and cocktails crafted with fresh fruit and herbs.

Brasserie iLLeGaaL
Brasserie iLLeGaaL, located in Brussels, aims to unite artists and brewers around a joint project.

Sani
A family business with a heart for Greek and Mediterranean flavours: from olives and olive oil to dairy and wine. A Brussels staple going back 30 years.

Sirre
Authentic, artisanal, and always fresh: Sirre delivers local products with a heart for quality.

3 Fonteinen
Lambic and gueuze brewery from the Pajottenland. Creating our lambic takes the input of many people, each with their own craft and passion. On the grain fields, in the fruit orchards, in the brewery, in the storeroom, and far beyond: lambic culture is alive and full of character(s).

Brasserie de la Senne
Brasserie de la Senne crafts balanced, characterful beers of high quality and consistency, always developed without compromise. Their beers are naturally brewed, using ingredients and producers they have long-standing relationships with.

Balkan Bakery
Craftsmanship from the Balkan at the heart of Brussels. Handmade pastries, crisp and full of character.
