Nona Demey Gallagher (b. 1995, she/her) is a theatre maker, director, and performer. She is the co-founder of the collective Krapp and develops her own theatrical practice in which female perspectives and the deconstruction of power, sexuality, and gender roles take centre stage. She gained wide recognition with Up Your Ass (2023), a raw and satirical adaptation of Valerie Solanas’ feminist cult text, created in collaboration with Lieselot Siddiki and detheatermaker. The production was performed for the first time in Europe and received rave reviews. It was selected for the Radikal Jung Festival 2024 in Munich, the Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2025, and Het TheaterFestival 2024, where it won the Best Ensemble Award.
Her work moves at the intersection of social critique and (subversive) humour, often inspired by historical figures and (forgotten) female voices. In 2026, she will create A Room of His Own, a performance exploring the ideas of anti-pornography feminist Andrea Dworkin.
Alongside her stage work, Nona studied Flemish Sign Language for three years with Doof Vlaanderen.
She has collaborated with various theatre companies, including Lies Pauwels, LOD & deSingel (Love Doll playing with the Big Boys in a different kind of space), Julie Cafmeyer (De Meeting), Ontroerend Goed (Loopstation), VIERNULVIER (The Importance of Being Flemish and Peaches & Guests), KOPERGIETERY, and Beeldsmederij De Maan (plastiekBertrand).
In 2023, she won the Audience Award of the PrixFintroPrijs for young artists, and in 2025, she was included in Humo’s 30 under 30 list.

KVS dramaturge Dina Dooreman sat down with Nona Demey Gallagher and Manuela Infante for a conversation.
On the occasion of International Women’s Day on March 8, we asked three KVS faces which woman they would like to see shining on our building.
Next season, Nona Demey Gallagher brings three productions to KVS: Copyriot, A Room of His Own and Don Quixote, Which Was a Dream, in which power, desire and identity are continuously questioned and examined.
